Today I made a trip to Clements. My engine light came on Tuesday night so I had them check that out. Turns out it was a valve near the gas tank. Quick fix and I was outta there. I did have the fella from the body shop take a look at a couple spots the DEER caused. He said he’d get ‘em taken care of. I guess it’s the reason to have insurance.

Today marks 2 months that I’ve been out of my parents and living with Erica. Things are going grrrrreat!

Bitter Sweet

As we are all missing Estes’ presence in the house, my parents knew they’d want to get another dog at some point. It was my feeling that if they know they want another dog, why wait. Well, my mom found the website of a breeder in town that had some Yochon puppies available today. They were able to get an appointment to look at the puppies and they picked one out! The breeder named the Yochon Izzy and I’m not sure if the name will stick… but I like it. Yochons are a mix between a Yorkie and a Bichon. They do not shed and they are only supposed to weigh between 10 and 20 pounds. Sounds like a good fit for my parents and their house. So as the title of this entry states, it is bitter sweet to say goodbye to Estes and welcome this new puppy to our family. I remember telling the new pup that she has some big shoes to fill but I think she’s up to the challenge.

Guitar Hero 3

I picked up Guitar Hero 3 today for XBox360. I’m looking forward to the improved 2-Player game and a wireless guitar controller… finally!!! Erica has really enjoyed rocking out on Guitar Hero 2 so I think she’s gonna like it too. She has gotten a lot better since she started playing. Crank it up!!!

Belts

It’s been a bad week for belts! On Monday (6/2) the drive belt on our lawn mower at the farm snapped. Wednesay afternoon (6/4) a belt in the sheeter of one of our presses at work snapped. Saturday and gopher hole snapped a belt for the Woods mower on one of our tractors!!! Maybe it’s because of all the rain?!

Estes Is The Bestest

Today we had to put our dog Estes down. She was a great dog that brought a smile to everyone’s face. Up until a couple weeks ago you would swear she was still a puppy with many years of playfulness to come. Even this past Tuesday night (June 3rd) I was in the backyard chasing her because she had found a bird (dead of course) to play ‘keep away from Louie’ with. She protected the house from every bus, delivery truck, and the mail carrier for almost 12 years. She would have been 12 years old on July 5th. It will be a sad Independence day as it was my job the last few years to take care of Estes as the 4th of July fireworks would scare her into barking fits.

She lead a long, spoiled life with a family that considered her a daughter, sister, friend instead of just a pet. One of only a few drawbacks to pets is how short their time can be with us.

Visiting my parents now will be different. I will miss the wagging tail as she greets me at the door wanting to catch up with my days adventures as she sniffs me up and down. I will miss her soft fur and it shedding everywhere. I will miss her trying to sneak up on and try to catch birds in the backyard. I will miss her head bobs as she trys to figure out what you’re saying to her. I will miss shaking hands with her and watching here crawl across the floor and seeing her kennel-up, the only tricks she knew. Althoguh I should say, the trick she knew best was how to love unconditionally. The people using the bike trail behind our house will miss her presence as well. Every passerby would smile when they saw Estes jumping at the back fence to see over the berm to greet them.

My dad can keep Estes’ radio off in the living room tonight as it will not be needed to hide the ‘bumps in the night’ that would keep her awake. Rest In Peace Estes!

Gaming

I have been keeping Tuesday nights game night with my friend Mike. I have my gaming computer at my parents house yet hooked up to the highspeet internet and come to town whenever I need a ‘net fix’. ;) We’ve been having a great time with Team Fortress 2 and whatever else we decide to play. Thanks for all the great game Mike!!

I took my car into Clements today to get repaired for the DEER. Four to Five days is what they say it’ll take. My parents are letting me borrow one of their minivans until it’s fixed. I’m gonna miss my car, but it’ll be nice to get a headlight back.

HAIL

Some severe storms went through the area today. Lots of hail made it look like winter in some parts of Rochester. My DEER dented car did not get any HAIL dents. Wheeeew!!
