SNOW

November 7th, 2008

Woke up today to a fresh looking world.  A light covering of snow had fallen overnight, into the morning.  It’s been snowing all day on and off.  Temps are gonna be low for a couple days but should warm up melting the snow.  thanks goodness.  I’m not quite ready for winter yet!

Falling… Trees!?!

November 7th, 2008

Yesterday the wind at our house was really howling!  Woke up to some really large limbs that had been blown out of some really old trees at our house.  It’s going to take a long time to get it all cleaned up.  Good thing I had bought a new bar and chain for my chainsaw last weekend.  We are gonna need it!!

It’s Back?

Site might be down for a while.  Mike is gonna help me switch my web host.  It won’t be moving far and will be back up in a few days once the process is started.

Light it up!

November 3rd, 2008

This past weekend Erica and I had started to get some outdoor christmas lights purchased.  Today I started setting things up.  This will be my first year setting up lights at the farm so I’m not sure how well it’s going to work out.  Things are a bit spread out so far but we gotta start somewhere right??  We are going with LED lights and so far I’m really pleased with how they look!

Halloween

October 31st, 2008

Happy Halloween!

Another Fall Fun Day has come and gone at work.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any ‘Fall Fun Day Candy’ to give to all the trick-or-Treaters that came by.  hehehe

Erica and I have started to collect Lemax’s Spooky Town halloween houses.  They are really neat.  I got a bunch on clearance this year and hope to add to the collection in years to come.

Engaged!

September 30th, 2008

Erica came along to Colorado this year with my parents and I.  I thought it would be a great place for us to take the next step in our relationship.  On our second day in the mountians, we made a short day trip to Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.  As we hiked around the lake I was on the lookout for a nice back drop for my proposal to Erica.  Once I found the spot I got down on one knee, offered her a ring and made my proposal.  She said YES!  It was a great day!

Car

June 12th, 2008

Today I made a trip to Clements.  My engine light came on Tuesday night so I had them check that out.  Turns out it was a valve near the gas tank.  Quick fix and I was outta there.  I did have the fella from the body shop take a look at a couple spots the DEER caused.  He said he’d get ‘em taken care of.  I guess it’s the reason to have insurance.

2 Months

Today marks 2 months that I’ve been out of my parents and living with Erica.  Things are going grrrrreat!  :)

Bitter Sweet

June 10th, 2008
As we are all missing Estes’ presence in the house, my parents knew they’d want to get another dog at some point.  It was my feeling that if they know they want another dog, why wait.  Well, my mom found the website of a breeder in town that had some Yochon puppies available today.  They were able to get an appointment to look at the puppies and they picked one out!  The breeder named the Yochon Izzy and I’m not sure if the name will stick… but I like it.  Yochons are a mix between a Yorkie and a Bichon.  They do not shed and they are only supposed to weigh between 10 and 20 pounds.  Sounds like a good fit for my parents and their house.  So as the title of this entry states, it is bitter sweet to say goodbye to Estes and welcome this new puppy to our family.  I remember telling the new pup that she has some big shoes to fill but I think she’s up to the challenge.  :)
