Free Agents

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Free agency started today for the NFL.  I don’t like it a whole lot, but it does allow for some neat roster moves for the NFL teams.  So far my favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings, has made a couple of moves.  They picked up a safety named Madieu Williams and a full back named Thomas Tapeh.  Sounds like they are trying hard to get wide receiver Bernard Berrian.

Updates

A couple updates… My dad got some sort of infection in his leg again.  He’s been taking some antibiotics and it is clearing up. Yay!  Estes hurt her foot really bad last Thursday.  She’s hardly been putting any pressure on it at all.  Poor pup.  I think it’s getting better, but it’s hard to watch her walk around.  We’ve kept the drapes shut for the last week so she doesn’t go nuts when looking out the window at passersby.  Found out last week that getting a wired high-speed internet out to the farm isn’t possible yet.  So thinking of other options.  Maybe a combo of dial-up and satellite would work ok.  Could be a bit pricey.  I hope the ‘grid’ will find us soon out there.  Saturday Erica and I had nachos and played a game called Imagineiff.  It’s a fun game.  I would recommend it.  Sunday Erica and I took her parents out for their anniversary.  Timberlodge was the spot and it was very good.  We were supposed to get a big snow storm on Monday but it all staying in Iowa.  Thanks goodness!  I’m ready for SPRING!!

Estes Expressway

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

I just got done digging out paths in the backyard for Estes to run around on.  With all the snow we’ve been getting the last few years, I’ve tried to go out there at least once to clear some long runs for her.  The snow gets so deep, it gets hard for her to find a ’spot’.  The deep snow also slows her down alot.  Now she can zip around the backyard again!

One Year

One year ago today I purchased my first NEW car.  So far the Impala SS has been a great car. I’ve had very few problems with it which is a nice change from the ‘ole Corsica.

Here’s to many more years with the Impala!  /cheers

Flying Mount

Friday, February 15th, 2008

One of the skills after hitting level 70 in WoW is the ability to ride a flying mount.  It allows for faster travel… think of “as the crow flies”

I got my first flying mount today! woohoo!

46DAYS14HOURS3MINUTES

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

I finally hit level 70 in World Of Warcraft!!!  It only took 46 Days, 14 Hours, and 3 minutes!   Whew!  The crazy thing is, I’m no where near being done with the game!  $15/month  Well worth it in my opinion.

I could not have done it without Mike’s help.  Whether it was helping with some quests or just shooting the breeze.  Thanks Mike!

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to everyone out there!

Probowl

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

The NFL ProBowl this year was pretty good.  I’m not a huge fan of the game becuase of the different rules, etc.  However, it was exciting to watch the 7 Vikings at the game this year!  Also, Adriean Peterson was the PrBowl MVP.  Purdy good for a rookie!  I thougt it was cool that he bought all of the offensive linemen (starters and backups) for the Vikings tickets to the game in Hawaii.  I can’t believe the NFL season is over!  Football is my favorite of all the pro sports to watch.  I’m gonna have to find some other ways to fill my time till football starts again.  I dont’ think THAT will be a problem.  ;)

Standing

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Well, I got the TV stand together at Erica’s house on Saturday with the help of Erica and her dad.  It went together pretty quick and was not as tough as I thought it was gonna be.  For the time being, it’s holding up Erica’s TV.  It looks like a lot of overkill for her TV… the setup will look a lot different when my TV is moved out there.   Not sure yet when all of that is gonna happen… … …

Timberwolves Game

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Friday night was the night Kevin Garnett and the Celtics came to town.  My brother’s Christmas gift to me… treat me to an evening at BlockE and the game.  It was a blast!  Had dinner at Applebees and played some arcade games at Game Works.  WooHoo!  Unfortunately, KG was injured and did not play.  I brought my camera along to the game as it was the first excellent time to give it a test drive.  I did not have the batteries loaded and ready to go though (he came out sooner than I expected… and I was hoping there would have been more of a formal thing) when KG came out of the tunnel to wave to the crowd.  Instead of bumbling to get the batteries loaded into the camera, I decided to take in the moment.  I’m glad I was there for it.  I started tearing up as it was a true ‘RUDY’ moment.  I got some good pictures and I think the camera will definitely work out great for me.  Thanks Mike for the great evening!
