Jackhammer

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Last night I saw a rerun of MTV’s Pimp My Ride. It featured a subwoofer called Jackhammer made by MTX. I’ve never seen anything like it. It is a 22″ subwoofer and needs at least 6000 watts of power (reccomended RMS)up to 12,000 watts of power(peak). Check out a clip from the show.

Birthday

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

Today 26 years ago I was brought into the world. My favorite story from my birthday is when my mom told my dad to go home and “wash the grass”. Hehe. The scene outdoors was one where all the trees had that nice fresh frosty look.

I’ve been in an upbeat and cheerful mood and the day brought many birthday wishes. Thanks to Danna and the Red Menace for making the day at work more special. I got a jersey of my favorite Vikings player Pat Williams… new garb to wear on vikings Fridays at work. My bro got me a couple of movied to add to my collection. Thanks bro. A lilac scented candle from Erica. Got to hang out with Brian last night at BWW (he’s gonna get me hooked on WoW, I know it). Hot cocco from MDE.

Tis been a swell day!! Thanks to all

Vidi-woes

Cricky! I’ve been having troubles with my newest video card (the one I just replaced a couple months ago). It’s been having the same problems as the last one had. I took it out of my PC last night to pack it up to return to Best Buy and noticed some dust. I used a can-o-air to rid the card of the dust and I’m going to give it another shot. I played a game with some pretty intense graphics last night (DoD Source) and went about an hour and a half without a crash… so maybe that did it. If it goes out again, I’ll consider it a ‘Third Strike’ and it’s ‘OUT’!!.

Tomorrow is the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year, and my birthday. Happy Birffday!! to anyone else that I share the day with.

Cookies

Monday, December 19th, 2005

The project for the weekend took place on Saturday. It was cookie making time at my house. We made a bunch of batches of cookies. 6 batches to be exact! And there are more to come. We made our favorite Christmas cutout sugar cookies. I had the job of painting and sugaring the cookies after my mom cut them out of the dough. My dad was on oven detail. We had quite the line going so it didn’t take too long. It would have been better if my brother would have been around to spell me with the painting. After mixing some of the dough and painting, my arms were very sore. We did get some quality cookies out of it so it was worth it. We also tried a new (to our family) recipe this year. I’m not sure what they’re called, but they have butterscotch morsels in ‘em and are very sweet. They turned out good, but they are different than my great-grandma used to make so says my parents.

Vikings lost yesterday, so their winning streak has come to an end. I hope they can get a win next week. In the second round of the Fantasy Football playoffs this week, I got throttled. Still hurts to sit down. I did win $70 this year though so I think I did alright condsidering the amount of troubles the league had this year.

I still have lots of christmas shopping to get done. Wish me luck!

PB & ….

Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

After spending a little over an hour shoveling the lot, I came inside to get warmed up. Feeling a little shakey, tis amazing how shoveling makes ya use muscles ya otherwise wouldn’t unless you’re some sort of athelete, anyway I found some grape jelly in the fridge and made myself a PB&J sandwich to fuel me up for the drive to work. Could be some white knuckle driving.

I’ll see you when you get there!!

The Ringer

I saw a commercial for this movie while watching comedy central. I’m probably going to hell for laughing at it but it won’t be the first reason.

I like movies.

Minty Catastrophe

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

… Well almost…

With the cold weather of late, I have been making lots of hot chocolate. Last winter I had some mint hot chocolate packets. They are kinda spendy… so this year I got some mint extract to make my own. **Side note… it is 90% alcohol and cautions to to pour near an open flame. Damn!!** My first experience with the mint extract did not go too well. I was trying to measure the extract in the cap of the bottle. well with the poor lighting I had, I filled the cap to the brim. aww bugger. TRIED to poor some back into the bottle. Failed. I got mint extract everywhere. It was so strong I was coughing and tearing up just from the strong minty scent. Not wanting to waste the cup of hot chocolate, It was very minty… and very confusing… HOT chocolate… with a COLD sensation from the mint.

I hope I can learn from this lil catastrophe and the next time goes a lil better. Baby steps. Hey at least I didn’t burn the house down!!

Lighting It Up…

Monday, December 12th, 2005

After the Vikings 6th straight victory this week, I helped my dad put up some icicle lights on the house. It wasn’t too cold out. It’s nice to see lights back on the house after having none the past few years. When I was a young lad, my dad put lots of lights up. Thousands and thousands of lights… he stopped because of bad knees etc… So I got up the ladder this year to do the stringing. I’d like to add more to the house… but we’ll see how that goes. We also got a new Christmas tree up this year (on Saturday). It’s full of fiber optic strings. It looks nice too.

A lady at work brought me an IKEA catalog… looks like some neat stuff in there that I could spend a lot of money on. EEK! I’ll have to take a closer look when I’m in-between the games I’ve been playing lately.

Sickly

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

I got sick the day before thanksgiving. It was a nasty bug. After a week of treating the symptoms, I decided to go to the doctor because some symptoms were getting worse. He thought it was just a virus and gave me the treatment of what I had already been doing. However, he suggested a secret weapon for me to combat the ugly bug. I must admit Tussin DM turned the tide and granted me victory against the COLD.

I like potatos.

Bathroom Noises

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

I found a good deal on some Athena speakers on EBay a while back. This past weekend I got the idea to deck out the bathroom with some speakers. What the heck, why not? So while I watched the Vikings win their 5th straight game, I was wiring the bathroom with some speaker wire, two speakers and even a subwoofer. Here are a couple pictures to check out.
