Football Movies Games More

Monday, January 17th, 2005

Well after this last weekend, the Vikings football season is done. It was a year very similar to a rollercoaster. Lots of Ups and Downs. I hope they can now focus on next year and make the changes they need to do. Go Vikes!

Watched me a few movies over the weekend. Saturday, I watched The Village. I like the movie a lot. A must see if you liked Sixth Sense and or Signs (same Director). Saturday night I watched Without A Paddle. Quite an odd story… some really funny parts… Entertaining nonetheless. Sunday I put the movie Troy in the entertainment system and let’er rip. Great movie… I’m not sure how accurate to history it actually is… but it’s a movie, not a history lesson, and it kicked ass!

Haven’t been gaming too much lately… but some things are changing in the Galaxies (Star Wars Galaxies ) So I may be on there more now. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.

My brother went back to college on Friday. It was nice to have him home for his winter break. Study hard man!

My friend Ringo leaves for Zambia in a couple days. I’ll have a link to her website/blog soon so we can all keep up with her adventures. Don’t get too carried away with the shots. Ugh Needles! Maybe I’ll make a trip down that way some day… I can’t make any promises though. Have a nice trip down there and a good stay while you’re there. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do…. errr…. wait…. then you wouldn’t be going at all. teehee Seriously though, best of luck.

Vinkings Packers: Round 3

Tuesday, January 11th, 2005

What a game it was! The packers had beaten the Vikings 2 times in the regular season. Believe it or not this was the first time the two teams have ever met in the playoffs. And what a game to watch for Vikings fans… I’m sure Packer fans were looking for a bit more out of their team.

The Vikings came out on top at the end of the game. WOOHOO!

I’ll be honest… when the Vikings scored to make the score 31-17 I was a bit worried. The two times during the season that the Packers beat the Vikings the score ended 34-31 in favor of the Packers, both times winning on last second field goal kicks… and the Packers have a clutch QB in FAV-re. But it was NOT fav-re’s night to bring the ‘pack’ back. A strong game plan by the Vikings was just too much for the Packers to handle.

I heard a stat today that really surprised me. 74% of the TV sets in the local area (minnesota/wisconsin??) were tuned in to the game. WOW! That’s the most it’s been in 5 years. Amazing.

Next up for the Vikings will be another road game against the Philly Eagles. Anything is possible in the NFL. Go Vikes!

Work?

Monday, January 10th, 2005

Well well well. Three weekend off in a row. I wonder if it’ll make 4 in a row.

At work I’ve had to cover for Jeff (1st shift scheduler), he decided to take his family to Florida for some R&R. He picked a really good time to go because we’ve had a really bad ice storm come through the area and some snow on top of that. I think he missed some of it anyway. Otherwise, it hasn’t been too bad at work… I work with some really good people so that helps a lot.

The end of august marked my 4th year with Schmidt… time sure does fly. Thanks!

Knex

Monday, January 10th, 2005

I love thses little building toys. I’ve been buying a bunch of knex off of the internet… eBay in particular. BTW, I love eBay. Anyway, I’m not sure yet what I will be doing with the Knex quite yet. But that is part of the fun! I have already built some kickbutt tables (one for my bedroom and one for the entertainment area). Stay tuned for my next completed project.

Happy New Year! ugh
