Olympics
I watched some of the opening ceremonies of the olympics last night. What made this special though is I finally got some HD channels hooked up to my HDTV… Thank goodness the olympics will be broadcast in HD. I can honestly say that I never thought TV could be so pretty. A nice ceremoy too. teeheehee.

Uffda Mike… I don’t think I can name just one event. I don’t like the swimming and gymnastics so much… actually, most of the womens events. Men’s volleyball is awesome. Most of the track and field stuff is cool too. I watched a water polo game the other night… that was interesting, kinda exciting.

So what do you have against the swimming, gymnastics, and the women’s events?

I don’t see Gaming the Olympics, so I don’t watch. I like gymnastics. All those out of proportioned people are insane. Jumping all over on bars ‘n shyt.

I too am waiting for Computer gaming to get added… It’ll happen someday. Woot! Well ‘anonymous’ I think the problem with the swimming and gymnastic that I’ve had is that’s all I saw for the first week except for the water polo night. There are just so many laps in a pool one person can watch!
As for the womens events *yawns* I dunno… I guess I’d just rather watch the guys compete. Some stuff is ok… Womens team volley ball is pretty good.

What really blows my mind is the high jump. I don’t understand how they can get up that high. 7′7″??? sheesh!

Some of the women are actually stronger than some of the male competitors. I would pay to see you beat any of the women in their events. I guarantee that you would lose to every one of the women. Considering I have never met you in person, but I know who you are, and the training that these women go through there is not to many men that could put up with the intense training that they are a part of.
As for gaming ever becoming an Olympic event, I highly doubt that will ever happen in our lifetime. It does not take a lot of effort, skill, or talent to move a mouse and click buttons. That is what I have to say about that and that is my opinion, and I just wanted to say it and be heard for once!!

W O W . . .

First of all, I’m glad you spoke up on my blog… I’ll always listen. However, It doesn’t mean that I’ll always agree with you. Being this is my BLog, I have the power to delete/edit any post I want, but I feel that takes away from the blogging experience (unless people start getting really out of control)… I respect other peoples opinions. I’ll admit, your opinion would probably matter a bit more if you weren’t ‘anonymous’… nonetheless, I can respect you for it. I know the internet can be a scary place.
Secondly, I knew when I made that comment about the womens events I’d catch some flack for it. I’m not sure why I said it other than to get some feathers ruffled. I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful or take anything away from the ladies. I didn’t say that I could to a better job / beat the ladies of the olympics at ANYTHING. I simply said I’d rather watch the guys given the choice. Don’t get me wrong, I watched a lot of the women stuff because it always seemed to be on when I had access to watch TV and I enjoyed most of it. Like I said in one of my earlier blogs, I think the coverage should have been broken up a bit. I AM aware the women are incedible atheltes… that being said, I am NOT an athelete (yet) and my logic tells they could kick my ass in any of their events, no need to waste your money. Just like I am not a musican… any musican would 4/4 beat me down. HA! Just like I’m not a an artist… any artist could paint me into a corner. HA! Ok, but seriously, there are a lot of things in this world that I’m NOT… and one is I’m not disrespectful towards tha ladies. They have babies for goodness sake! Jokes are jokes… everyone makes ‘em!
Lastly, I don’t know how old you are, but I do believe that Computer Gaming will become an event in my life time (I can hope at least). As unlikey as it sounds, I think it’ll happen. If you told me that Badmiton is an olympic sport, I’d say your nuts… but it is (have yet to see that one televised)!
I agree “It does not take a lot of effort, skill, or talent to move a mouse and click buttons.” Just because a person can move a mouse and click buttons doesn’t make them a GAMER. Just like me floating in a pool doesn’t make me a swimmer. To be a ‘competitive gamer’ it takes tremendous effort, skill, talent, dedication, team work, responsibility, and communication skills (I’m sure I’m forgetting some more too). Ignorance is bliss…
Sheesh it takes me a while to get all this out. Sorry.

Gaw Damn, Lou’s the Man!

Since you say that you only can take watching people swim back and forth across a pool so much, how about the fact that this entire week all I have seen is people running in circles!! I just had to make that point to you.
I do see your point that it could take skill to actually be a good gamer. And there are some Olympic events that are very pointless, and I have no idea why they are even part of the Olympics.
I do have to agreee with Mike that you are the man, you seem like you have your interests and I commend you on that. I am sorry if I have come across not the nicest person on the net, I am a very nice person to be around usually!
