Well it’s been an awesome couple of days. My good friend Mike got into town after a lonnnnnng bus ride from Katy, TX. It sure is great to see him again. I really miss the silly fella. For the most part we’ve been ‘nerding’ it up and just been hanging out. Catching up on things. Getting my computer hooked up to my big TV was an awesome idea… it makes things more relaxed instead of being crowded at a small monitor. You know how I am about my bubble. I should have some pics of the setup in my gallery soon.

One highlight was meeting the fellas at the company Mike works for; MLT Group. He works with some really cool guys. Catching up with Mike’s neighbor Steve was a good time too. Otherwise Mike and I have been slammin the soda’s and kicking some ass in the gaming servers…. along with working on some website stuff. We’ve made a couple trips to the ‘ole hangout Buffalo Wild Wings… their stuff is as good as ever.

I took three days off of work to hang out with Mike. Today was my first day back at work. I like my job a lot and eventhough it can get stressful at times, I’m easily reminded why I like working for Schmidt.

Last night I was listening to some of Eminem’s stuff. Searching for some of Eminem’s songs lead me to D12 which is a group Eminem is a part of…. anyway, a while back they came out with a song called ‘Purple Hills’, it was a neat song… but in my searchings, I found out that the song is really called ‘Purple Pills’ and is about drugs and stuff. It didn’t really cloud my vision of Eminem because the guy is an amazing rapper! The way he can string things together is incredible!

Wow… all sorts of news today! I added a second hard drive to my computer today. I’d like my good friend Brian to check my work though as it’s my first hard drive installed and partitioned all by my lonesome. I’m now up to two 200gig SATA hard drives. Should give me enough storage space to last me a while. I do need to go through all the computers in our house and back up the needed info.

OHH!… while at Best Buy today I picked up an X-Box game and two movies. The X-Box game I got, I’ve been waiting to get for a while now. RalliSport Challenge 2. I’ll let ya know what I think of it when I get some time to play it. The movies I picked up were Starsky & Hutch (the newer one) and The Butterfly Effect. I’ve heard good things about both. It’s been a few weeks since I picked up any DVDs… I musta been sick!

I spent a lot of time last night and today getting ready for my friend Mike’s visit. He moved to a town near Houston, TX a few months ago and I’ve missed his company. We still keep in close contact via phone and the internet, but it’s just not the same.

Since I got my new TV, I’ve been wanting to hook my personal computer up to it (yes, it actually has a plugin for a PC). Today I got the final cord I need to make all the connections, and WOW! It is a lot better than I expected. It doesn’t have the best refresh rate, so I don’t think it would be a permanent move, but for some fun gaming, how can ya beat a 50″ monitor!?!

While at bestbuy today getting that last cord, I did pick up a wireless mouse/keyboard combo… did NOT work out… made my KVM switch go whacky and things just didn’t work out… so I ended up getting a new wired keyboard, nothing fancy, and a new wired mouse. The old mouse and keyboard will be staying in the other room with the TV when I want to game out there. So far I like the new mouse (InteniMouse Explorer 4.0) a lot.

Haven’t had much tme to play that game called everquest… I had to work some different hours this last week because Jeff at work hurt his back. I hope you’re doing better Jeff!! Take it easy!!

Early to rise today… Got a few errands done before I met a good friend at an Indian Restaurant for lunch. It was good food. I’d go back given the opportunity. I was a little worried about the spiciness of the food. Nothing I couldn’t handle though… I do think they had it toned down a bit for the lunch buffet. Missed Buffalo Wild Wings’ legs night last night. I hope to make it to next week’s legs night… Should be a big crowd!!

I’m not sure how many of you out there are familiar with EverQuest. It’s a very popular computer game and is commonly refered to as ‘EverCrack’ because of the grip it holds on the many gamers that play it. Last night I installed the EverQuest Trilogy that consists of the game and two expanison packs. It was very easy to see why the game is so popular. After spending two hours going through tutorials trying to learn this new (to me) game, I had to call it a night. These bedtimes of 5am are starting to catch up to me I think. I can sleep when I die, right?

Last night when I went to search for an old 3D Design program of mine, I came across a bunch of my old computer games. Being overtaken by some nostalgia, and against better judgment, I decided to load one of these old games up onto my PC. I ended up playing it until the wee hours of the morning (5am). Had some corn on the cob with dinner. First of the season. The ears of corn were a bit small, maybe it’s because it’s so early. Very good Stuff!!

It’s been over a week ago now, but I think my first Poker - Texas Hold’em tourney is blog-worthy. So here it goes. Saturday July 10th was a big night in Adams, MN. John D. held a small Texas Hold’em tourney (I call it a tourney because I don’t know what else to call it). Thanks for hosting John, I had a blast. I met a lot of neat people, and I hope we can all do it again sometime. What made the night even better… I won first place and a prize of $150.00. However, I didn’t get some payback. I ended up getting sick that night and haven’t been 100% healthy since then. I’ll be sure to boost my immune system before the next tourney. That being said, When is it John??
